Leicester based writer and poet Rob Gee spent several weeks wandering around Castle Donington in Leicestershire, accosting unsuspecting residents in order to gather their impressions of the village, their memories and anecdotes, and their feelings about the place they call home.
He visited pubs, community groups and local places of interest as well as simply hanging around the village. Peoples comments were recorded and, from a cross section of these responses, Rob created this selection of poetry and prose.
Photographer Linda Young took pictures inspired by Robs text and her own conversations with locals.
Historic images were provided by Castle Donington Museum and by local resident Delia Richards.
